The Brooklyn General Assembly expresses support and sympathy for the injured and hospitalized firefighter from the Crown Heights FDNY station. The firefighter could possibly have avoided injury were it not for cutbacks in resources and staff for the FDNY.
Words of sympathy will be sent, a press release issued, and an action planned around the issue.

We the people of this Brooklyn General Assembly hereby express our solidarity with the intentions and actions of the December 12 West Coast Port Shutdown and the participating Occupations, from Anchorage to Oakland, Vancouver to Ventura. We view this effort on behalf of longshoreman and port truckers to disrupt business for EGT and Goldman Sachs as a legitimate act of civil disobedience and necessary to defend the rights of workers and immigrants. To support, we mobilizing Brooklynites to join Occupy Wall Street’s Goldman Sachs protest on this day.
